We assume you already know how to create a basic Ad Hoc report. If you do not please read the overview located here Ad Hoc Overview before proceeding.
In this example a subtotal will be added to the Customer State field and a total will be added to the Customer Sold To Date field.
To add a subtotal click the Sort Fields button at the top of the window. In the Sort Fields window enter the name of the field you want to add a subtotal to. In this example we are using the CUSTOMERS.CSTATE field. Then click the empty field in the subtotal column and select “True”. When finished close the window to return to your list of fields.
To add the totals to the subtotal format put a check in the box you want to total. In this example we are placing the check in the box for CUSTOMERS.CSOLD_TO_DATE.
To view the report with the updated sort option press the “Rebuild” button at the top of the window. You will then see the report sorted with subtotals by state.
