PERFECT FIT 7 will run on the Macintosh OSX 10.4 using Omnis Studio 4.2
PERFECT FIT 7 will run on the Macintosh OSX 10.5 using Omnis Studio 4.3
You can use Omnis Studio 4.2 on OSX 10.4, but there are some problems with the display of the Form Editor module.
If a Mac is on a local area network of Macintoshes only, there are no problems with data file connectivity.
If a Mac is on a local area network that includes MS Windows computers, the Mac should not connect directly to the data file. This will cause data corruption due to differences in how Windows and the Mac deal with record locking in a multi-user database.
Options:
1. Use the Omnis Data Bridge that we will configure for your system. This makes data connections more complicated, and there is a charge.
2. Use Terminal Server on the Windows Server, and use Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Connection for the Macintosh (free) to connect. We use this solution and it works very well.
The same serial numbers can be used on Windows or the Macintosh.
