Edit Finished Goods Stock Number

Edit a Finished Goods Inventory Stock Number

If there has been no activity on the Stock Number you can click Edit and change any of the fields.
Tab through all the fields to validate for duplicates.

If there has been activity:

1. Insert the new Stock Number on the Inventory window.
Do NOT copy Components (prompt) or other linked records from the Old Stock Number.

2. Menus > Maintenance, PROG > Combine Inventory

All the linked records from the Old Stock Number will be updated to link to the new stock number.
This includes Order Items, Invoice Items, Inventory Movements, Components, Cut Items, PO Items, Kits, Location Quantities, and others.

WARNING: UPC’s are not updated.
This may cause linking errors to outside systems.
You must manually copy UPC numbers from the old Stock Number to the new number.
Do not delete the old stock number until this part has been completed if needed.
Since Duplicate UPCs are not allowed you must change the old number after copying but before pasting it into the new Stock Number. Recommend you put an “x” at the end.

Please run first on your TEST database to insure accurate results.

Make sure you are aware of the links to 3rd party applications.
They might need to be updated.
