The Quick Check procedure is the first step in detecting and fixing low level data file damage.
Make a backup of your data file before running any repairs in the Quick Check Utility.
If possible, this procedure should be run on the server.
To initiate the Quick Check go to…
Menus > Maintenance
Utilities > Quick Check
Note: The Quick Check takes a fraction of a second to run.
When you see the message “Examining Data file”, and the hourglass is gone, the Quick Check is done.
If there are errors they will show in the list, and it takes longer to run.
After running the Quick Check, Print a diagnostic Report.
If there is data file damage as reported by the Quick Check, we recommend you run this procedure daily to see how soon the damage returns. If the damage shows again, there is probably a network problem.
