PASSWORDS GENERAL PF7

Contents

In the base package of PERFECT FIT 5, there are 9 levels of Passwords. These are “task based” passwords, initially labelled A, B, C, etc. Each level allows the user to access selected areas of the program. This access is built in to PERFECT FIT, and cannot be changed by the end user.

2 or more users may need to have the same passwords, depending upon their job functions.

The master Password is given to the Registered Owner. This password will allow the user to change the actual passwords for each of the 9 levels. Note that it does not allow change of access, just the password itself. To access the passwords, go to File > Password…, and enter the Master Password. Go to Files > Password… again, and click on the Change Passwords button. This opens a window to allow editing of the passwords. The list of files on the right controls access to those files in the Ad Hoc Report writer. This list has nothing to do with file access within PERFECT FIT.

We recommend you set up passwords for each level that start with the default letter of that level. This will allow immediate identification of the user’s level.

See the User Guide (Tech Note Database) for the current password structure.

The Security Module in the 5 Series provides the ability to create unique passwords for each user, as well as custom controlled access to menus, windows, reports, and fields.

PF7 does not have password levels. If you want to create password controlled security you will need to purchase the security module.
