FONTS FOR WINDOWS PROBLEM

Contents

“I’m having problems seeing my Omnis Fonts in my windows version of my app.”

    1. In the control panel for Fonts, under the View menu, there is a line ‘Options…’
Select that, then go to the True Type tab; deselect the checkbox ‘Show only True Type fonts…’

    2. You probably have too many fonts installed on your computer, uninstall some – that is move them to another directory – set up your fonts in your Omnis program, and then move the fonts back into your fonts directory.

“I used to be able to see certain font characters, like the Euro symbol, etc., but now I can’t.”

This is likely due to having two versions of the font file, V1.0 and V1.1, in your fonts folder.

Start button > Control Panel > Fonts

You should only have one version of the Omnis Monospace font and that should be V1.1. If you have both V1.1 and V1.0 in your fonts folder, delete V1.0.

“That’s great, but after I do that how do I actually add the Euro font into Perfect Fit so it will print on invoices?”

*The following is applicable for any of the special characters in the font file not just the Euro symbol*

After you’ve made sure you only have Omnis Monospae V1.1 installed do the following to add the Euro symbol:

Start Button > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map

From the drop down menu select Omnis Monospace. In the list of font characters that appear, locate the Euro symbol and select it. Then press the “Select” button. Then press the “Copy” button. Open Perfect Fit and do the following:

    Menus > Maintenance Maintenance > User Lists > Group 2 > Currency

Click “Insert” and paste (Cntrl V) the Euro symbol into the “Currency Unit” field. Fill in the exchange rate. Press “OK”.

Then pull up the Customer you want associated with the Euro and click the “Info” button. Click “Edit” and scroll to the bottom. Paste (Cntrl V) the Euro symbol into the “Currency” field. Press “OK”.

Now, when you print an invoice the Euro symbol will appear. Thank you, thank you.
