Diagnostic Error
Compare Invoice Factor Status to the Invoices’s A/R Transactions
This is a specialized diagnostic run under Diagnostics > Other Accounting > Factor Inv/Trx
If an invoice factor status is changed, the A/R Transactions on the invoice will have postings to both accounts 1200 and 1210.
If transactions were edited ot rhe programmers window was used to change the status, this error can appear.
This technique allows fixes even if the invoice is in a closed period.
Find the invoice as reported on the report.
You will also need the customer code for this invoice.
This is much easier of the invoice has a balance due of 0.00. This example will assume that.
Click on the A/R TRX button
Add up the DR and CR for Account 1200, and do the same for Account 1210
The total DR of each account should equal the total CR for that account, so you can figure out whether the accounts need Debiting or Crediting.
The number should be the same for 1200 and 1210, but one will need a DR and the other a CR to balance them.
Go to Ledger > General Journal
Insert the Adjusting Transactions; click OK through the warning message.
The post date should be the post date of the most recent A/R transaction, or if that is in a closed period then the first date of the first open period.
Click the TRX Inspect button.
Double click the first transaction on the right list.
On the Transaction Detail window, click Edit, and enter the Customer Code and the Invoice number in the blue box.
Repeat this for the second transaction in the list (can usually get there by click the Next button on the detail window.)
This techniqe will put the Factored and Non-Factored accounts into balance with the A/R Reports.
