Editing Transaction dates can only be done using the Programmer’s Menu, Transaction Window.
Find the Transaction Sequence Number of the Payment Received and its offset entry:
1. Go to the Customer Window
2. Click the A/R TRX button to open the A/R Ledger
3. Note the Date (Post Date) of the transaction
4. Go to Ledger > Reports > Audit Trail
5. Print the Audit Trail for that post date ONLY.
6. Inspect the Report and mark the Transaction for the Receive Payment AND its offset transaction(s). All transactions marked must add up so Debits = Credits.
Edit the Post Dates:
1. Go to Maintenance > Programmer’s > PROG > Windows > Transactions.
2. FIND the TSEQ of the first marked transaction.
3. EDIT both the TDATE and the TPDATE
4. Repeat for Each Transaction in the marked set.
5. Print the Ledger > Audit Trail for the post date, as above. The Delta amount at the bottom of the report should still equal 0.00, If not, you made an error.
WARNING: If the Dates are changed from OPEN to CLOSED periods, or vice versa, then the Account Balances will need to be reset. Other adjustments may need to be made to maintain accuracy of the Accounting system.
If all dates are in open periods then there is nothing else to do.
Note: See the Transaction Inspector for a faster way to edit a transaction.
