The Audit Trail Reports show transaction detail for every transaction entered in PERFECT FIT.
Print this report under Ledger > Reports > Audit Trail.
Search by Post date is most useful, as any single date or date range should show a Delta (difference between Debits and Credits) of 0.00. You can immediately see if a date is out of balance.
Searching by Transaction Date is useful only for finding when transactions were entered. The Transaction date is not used for accounting.
Searching by Trx Number is useful only for inspecting a small set of transactions. The Delta may not be 0.00, even if the system is in balance.
The Export – SYLK option, if printed to File, will create a file that can be opened by a spreadsheet, one record per row, one field per column.
The Audit Trail Report shows 1 line per transaction, and can be printed in Landscape orientation to show more information. Printing to screen allows horizontal scrolling to show maximum data.
The Transaction Detail Report uses about 8 lines per transaction. It is useful ONLY for printing a few transactions at a time. It wastes paper and is difficult to read, although it does show all transaction data in a vertical format.
