4044: AP Transactions out of balance with Payable Headers

All other errors that relate to Payables, Transactions, and the Ledger must be fixed before this one, and then diagnostics run again.
In most cases this error will go away when the other AP errors are fixed.

This document is still under analysis, so if you want to be sure that your fix is correct, please contact us.

    Special Diagnostics to run:
This first one finds most errors.
    1. Diagnostics > Other Accounting > Account 2100 No Vendor or Pble.

    For Open Periods only:
Transactions found with no Payable can be changed by editing the Account number on the transaction to something other than 2100
If there are 2 transactions that balance each other out, they do not need to be edited (such as GL reversing).
Transactions that are linked to a Payable but no vendor can be linked to the appropriate Vendor code.
Or General Journal entry can be made to reverse the causing transaction.

    For Closed Periods:
General Journal entry can be made to reverse the causing transaction.

    2. Diagnostics > Other Accounting > A/P Detail $
Looks for A/P transactions where Total due does not agree with Transactions.

    3. Diagnostics > Other Accounting > A/P Detail Dates
Looks for A/P transactions where the dates are before the post date on the Payable header.
This generally is not much help for this error, unless transactions are posted in the future.

    4. Diagnostics > Other Accounting > Check Closing TRX on 1 Account
Prompts user for Ledger Account Number
On older versions you must enter the Opening System Date. This is the first date after the last Purged Date. See the System Profile for this date.
Newer versions (PF7.150605) use this date automatically

Analyzes all transactions and opening and closings on a month by month basis.
    Errors show as OK messages.
This can be a critical tool for finding the dreaded 4044 A/P error when there is no Bill number provided.
    Options for fixing:
    1. Recommend you call support for further analysis.
    2. Open GL Periods back to the oldest error date., run diagnostics, then close again.
This is not always the correct solution.
    2. Edit the opening and closing transaction amounts. This is the more difficult solution, but may be the only solution if there are old transactions missing or periods have been purged.
This is not always the correct solution.

    Older option, not currently recommended:
    1. This is the solution if all post dates are in closed periods:
Make a GL Journal entry using Account 2100 and your choice of an offset account. (Recommend using a 3000 Equity/Suspense Account).
Recommend the post date be the first open date of your oldest open period.
If your Account 2100 balance is bigger than the A/P report, the account 2100 will be DEBITED.
If the Delta number on the Diagnostics shows a postive, Account 2100 will be CREDITED
